Nor is He a Republican or a Libertarian. And I would seriously doubt He’s a Southern Baptist.
Political leaders, political parties, and large religious bodies do not have the wisdom, power, or understanding within themselves to fix what’s wrong with America.
Only the Lord God Almighty does. And until we acknowledge that fact, bow before Him, and obey Him, America will continue its plunge into oblivion.
America has a terminal heart disease. From the Whitehouse to the church house America needs a blood transfusion and a heart transplant. If we are to survive as a nation, the only cure is His blood and His heart in place of our sick, impaired hearts and minds. From the smallest to the greatest, our country must return to roots of faith and trust in the Sovereign God, Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Otherwise, we are doomed.
Storm winds of misconception and deception have swept across this land for several decades, carrying with them the lies of hatred, the diseases of pride, and the cancers of rebellion. Fire hoses of evil. Turned on full-blast. And we are drowning in the deluge of those who “call evil—good and good—evil.”
“An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;…Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. Then it goes, and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation” (Matthew 12:39, 43-45 NAS).
Just look at history to confirm we are following those historical footprints. America is in deep trouble, folks. Look at your emails, Face Book posts or listen to your choice of evening news. We are a divided country. And the silent majority still sleeps, thinking everything’s gonna be all right.
No, it’s not. That’s part of the lie. Things never stay the same no matter how much we wish they could. Everything under the sun is either being daily renewed or is dying. And God is the only One capable of giving life. Refreshing. Restoring. Rejuvenating. Life.
So is God pacing the corridors of the clouds, wringing His hands screaming, “Oh no! What am I going to do now?”
Certainly not. He knows the beginning and the end. We are on His time schedule. Not ours. And He is in control of all things, even those who refuse to believe He is I AM.
King Solomon wrote over three thousand years ago:
“That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So, there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:10 NAS).
The chaos we see today began in the Garden when God’s created people chose to disobey, to rebel against His instructions, and then suffered the consequences for their choices—just like God said they would. They died. Physically and spiritually.
A large percent of Americans believe they can rebel against God’s instructions and live. To expect different results from the same type of rebellion is foolish deception. Yet we all have friends, neighbors and relatives who reject God, pretend He doesn’t exist, and believe there will be no consequences for their choices.
Jesus said we can identify those who belong to Him—by the fruit of
their lives. So understand, I’m not judging anyone—Republican, Democrat or Libertarian. Even my Southern Baptist brothers and sisters—but God gave me the clear instruction: I am to be a fruit inspector.
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:15-20 NAS).
Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance is listed as identifying fruit produced in our spirit, through God’s Spirit, when we are walking in obedience to Christ. “The Fruit of the Spirit”. Did you notice those nine character attributes are lumped into a singular product? Fruit—not fruits. For years I thought I could pick and choose. Who wants to be patient? And meek? Get real. “Til the day I saw “fruit” not “fruits”.
When we come to Christ, the Spirit of God begins the growing, fertilizing, pruning process. Transforming our lives to produce fruit. Good fruit.
What do you hear and see on the evening news? From every branch of government? From every political party? From most of the folks you know? Love? Joy? Peace? Patience? Gentleness? Goodness? Faith? Meekness? Temperance?
Don’t even bother to answer.
Americans are not God’s fair-haired children. God is not an aging, permissive grandfather. As far as I know, the only nation God called His own are the Jewish folks. The only plot of ground He called holy is Jerusalem. And look at what God has done to His kids because of their rebellion. Like it or not, believe it or not, “God is the same. Yesterday, today, and forever.”
He also said, “Those who bless Israel I will bless and those who curse Israel I will curse.” Pull out a history book. Read and see what has happened to every nation, since The Book of Genesis, who cursed Israel. In the books of Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and many of the minor prophets, God gives us a list of His future dealings with most every nation, with the exception of America.
Interesting or frightening? You decide. But I don’t find one of the Old or New Testament prophets mentioning Americans, Republicans, Democrats, or Libertarians. Or yes, even Southern Baptists—only the Jewish people and those who belong to Jesus and those who don’t belong to Him. Where do you fit in the mix?
Understand. Justice delayed doesn’t mean justice denied. It means we are still experiencing the love, the mercy, patience, and everlasting kindness of God, as He waits for those folks who will change their mind in these last days, acknowledge their sin, and by faith come to the cross for mercy, grace, and pardon. Those who will come to Jesus, accept His sacrifice for them, and live.
But His mercy and patience will not last forever. And should you die tonight, the choice you made today: His love, His blood and His heart—or eternal separation from Him—will be your choice. Forever.
Hi DiAnn – Right on! Until there is a widespread return to the Lord, no meaningful change can occur. That said, I do not see abdicating from responsible citizenship as an option for Christians. Too many have done that, and we’re reaping the results. Blessings, Susan

Susan, I’m not suggesting abdicating from our responsibilities of citizenship. Not at all. But we must keep in perspective God is the only One who can heal our land. And He can’t and won’t do that unless and until there is a heart change among His people. Thank you so much for reading and responding to this post.
As I was praying this morning, the scripture ran through my man “…until the man of lawlessness is revealed.” When we look around and realize lawlessness runs rampant over most of the world. “Even so come quickly, Lord Jesus.”

I’m not sure the silent majority is silent anymore. We certainly aren’t asleep .
A few, as you, are speaking out for repentance, trying to be heard above the thunderous bombs of secular humanism that keep blasting holes in the fabric of our country’s founding principles. Some have thrown up their hands and said America is beyond help. So, they have honkered down in their bunkers waiting for the brimstone to fall. But many of us have fallen to our knees in intercession while the war of sin rages around us and realize that is where our srength, and our nation’s hope, lie. (2 Chronicles 7:14). Never stop praying for our coutnry,
But remember, too, ths is not our home. There is a greater kingdom awaiting us that no one can snatch from us. May God give us the strength and wisdom to save others from this temperal destruction so they may sojourn with us war refugees into His eternity.

Julie, as I prayed this morning for Christians all over the world and for believers here in America, the scripture passed through my mind “…until the man of lawlessness is revealed.” The jolt was that is exactly what is happening throughout the world this morning…lawlessness.
Time is so short and there are so many who need Jesus. We must be diligent to hold the truth of the cross before us. And to pray, pray, pray. Without ceasing.
Thank you for reading and responding. To encourage each other as we see the time drawing near.

Julie, Thanks for what you said. I think there is a vocal minority part of the silent majority but the remaining folks are still silent. I know DiAne went to Austin to support the Pro-Life bill. Yaaaa, DiAne. I didn’t go so I am speaking to myself and others like me. I don’t feel bad about not going. I did not have the finances to go nor did my old body have the stamina to do that. However, I need to not be silent any longer. I can’t do everything but I can do some things. Jesus told us to share His good news in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the whole world. There is nothing preventing me from doing that, at least, not in America, not yet anyway. I think one large problem we Christians have in America is that a large part of us watch the news and get upset and do a “Tsk, tsk.” Then we think we have done our part in confronting evil. We hear a message in church about sharing our faith then we go about our business not wanting to be good Christians and not offend anyone so we don’t share our faith. Then church growth only happens because our church draws members from other churches. This is not what Jesus had in mind. If we were diligent in sharing the good news about the wonderful gift Jesus purchased for us, we would see the Holy Spirit changing hearts and the true Church would be growing and the encroaching false faiths would be crowded out, their attraction dimmed by the light of Christ. I point the finger of blame at myself as much as anyone else. I want to be more open and diligent in sharing my faith. This for at least two reasons, first, to help more people avoid the Hell that awaits them and to spend eternity with a loving, cherishing God. Second, and a far second, is to have more Christians in our nation to promote the godly precepts which the Lord laid out in scripture. If this life were promoted, and lived out, it would benefit everyone, believers, not-yet-believers and non-believers.

I think I had an extra “not” in my comment. I meant WANTING to be good Christians. Please give me some grace here. Thanks and Blessings. Jim

Jim, Amen and amen! Going to those special events is well and good, but the battle is fought in the trenches of every day life with individual encounters with friends, co-workers, family, neighbors. What do they take away from having been with us? Do they see Jesus in how we handle our problems? Do they see Jesus in how we handle our kids? Do they see Jesus when death spreads its shroud over us? Do they see Jesus in our reactions to difficult people?
And how do we react when others have the above problems? Do we take the time to offer comfort, help, hope and become the arms of Jesus around them. How will they know if we don’t tell them? That’s where the (cliche alert) rubber meets the road.
Thank you for your wisdom and sharing your heart. I am coming to understand that when I spend quiet time in the Word and with the Lord, He provides people and opportunities for me to share His love and grace. My challenge is to be aware and not rush through the day, missing those folks He brings my way.

I am one of the laziest people I know, and compared to what used to be in this nation, I would certainly appear so!
However, I usually find folks resenting and corrcting me for doing too much. Figure.
I wonder if they just feel they look bad by comparison, feel guilty, or something. And yet, I know I’m not working to full capacity. It’s such a confusing world!

Lionhearted Kat,
I’ve always loved your tag and can’t imagine you having a lazy bone in your body. But this is about giving folks the warning that everything’s not all right in America. We’ve thumbed our nose at God or sat silent while those who did the thumbing have changed our nation from law abiding to lawlessness. And the only One who can save us is The Lord God, if His people will repent, turn, and walk according to His principles and precepts.
I’m sure you’ve had the same response I’ve had when talking to many folks about the need for their involvement in the governing process…voting and knowing who you vote for, understanding the Constitution, being a responsible American citizens, and using the brains God gave each one of us to discern good and evil. And the person rolls their eyes and looks at you like you’re speaking a foreign language. They’re not interested.
But the good news is God is still in control. Doesn’t mean everything’s gonna be great, but it does mean God’s plan will be fulfilled and He will take care of His own people…even when we are overwhelmed and don’t see the solution. He is our hope and our peace. Not a political party and not even 10,000 member churches…only God.
Be encouraged. He told us it would be this way in the last days. All this means is Jesus is coming and it won’t be as long as it has been.

Oh, yes, you are right, and I understood you, but always thought folks do not want to do anything about anything because it would be work, even those in the Church. The Word says we fatten ourselves in a day of slaughter…I just always thought the public dole went hand in hand with the rest of the troubles. But I know, God will return for the faithful.
Once a preacher asked what is the one Bible verse that your can use to prove to yourslef you are okay with God. “Amen! Come Lord Jesus!”
And I love your site, too! 🙂
