NEWS FLASH:
I have a new four book series, “The Master’s Plan” on the drawing board. The first book in this series will be released late July, early August, 2019…”THE MASTER’S PLAN REVEALED THROUGH CREATION”
Here’s a sneak peek of one of the illustrations. This book is written to help young families introduce their children to the Word of God, while learning or refreshing the Word in their own hearts.
Stay tuned for the coming release party dates…and give-a-ways!
The third book in the Roped Series…”Untied” is my current WIP (Work in Progress.)
The second book in the Roped Series…”Twisted”

The first book in the Roped Series…ROPED finaled in the Grace Awards and the Christian Literary Henri Awards and ROPED was named #5 in the TOP TEN CHRISTIAN READS FOR TEENS AND TWEENS for 2016.
Both ROPED and TWISTED are action/adventure, not mushy girl-stuff. If you love rodeo, horses, and a protagonist with a heap of chutzpah, you’ll love this series!
ROPED is available at http://www.amazon.com/Roped-DiAne-Gates/dp/BO147NL6KS, and BarnesandNoble.com.

I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but as the old saying goes we got to Texas soon as we could. And Texas has been our home for the last 30 years. God bless Texas!
Painting, photography, gardening, cooking, and writing are my life. I share family recipes and cooking tips on my new blog entitled, The Southern Side of Flavor at http://floridagirlturnedtexan.wordpress.com. Please drop by and share some of your family’s favorites.
I am wife to my high-school sweetheart and the first boy I ever dated; mother to my fighter-pilot son; and Mimi to two college graduate grand-girls and one long, tall teen grandson embarking on his college journey, who are my joy and delight. I’ve even learned to text and tweet ’cause of ’em!
From my yet to be published four book series “The Master’s Plan Revealed Through the Word.” This illustration is from Book Two…release hoping for late 2019 or early 2020.
Almost ten years ago God led me to join six other writers who were equally determined to become the best writers we could be for our Lord Jesus. We label ourselves The Literati. What a blessing these six special friends are in my life.
In 2010, Arnold the Ant Who Wouldn’t Be an Ant, was awarded first place in the children’s division of the North Texas Christian Writer’s contest. In 2011 and 2012 chapters of Roped took first place in the children’s division of NTCW. Be sure to visit DiAne Gates, FaceBook Author Page to take a peek at some of the illustrations for books still on the drawing board
Writing is hard work. Oh, that first draft is fun! Creates a Fiesta in my brain. However, the road to publishing is often a long, bumpy journey. But holding that copy of my book in my hands was similar to holding my first born.
In February of 2001 our 28-year-old daughter went home to be with the Lord.
Psalm 139 tells me God numbered her days, before there was one of them, but that doesn’t squelch our grief, does it? I often write about the grief journey in my blog, Moving the Ancient Boundaries. When you lose one you love, there is never complete healing this side of heaven. But I am learning to trust God’s plan even when I haven’t a clue what tomorrow will bring. Deuteronomy 29:29 has been the life-ring that carries me until the day we meet again in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever. . . .”
God doesn’t tell us everything, only what we need to know. I facilitate a GriefShare Support Group at First Community Church in Crandall, Tx. Go to http://www.GriefShare.org for more information on this life-changing journey to a new normal. There is a group meeting near you.
God’s only Son, The Lord Jesus Christ stands ready to give all who believe in salvation by His birth, death, and resurrection, hope, help, and healing through the power of His shed blood and His inerrant Word.
Today America is a nation deeply divided, and God tells us “A nation divided against itself cannot stand.” Our nation is plagued with famine…famine of the Word of God…even in the church.
We have raised several generations who do not know the Lord God, because we have become an apathetic people. A people who refuse to become involved in anything outside of ourselves. A people who believe they are self-sufficient and owe God nothing. That’s pride.
God doesn’t tell us when Jesus will return, but in the book of Matthew, Chapter 24, He lists the signs of His coming, and we are instructed to be ready, as the signs of His coming are all around us. One thing is certain, it won’t be as long as it has been. Keep watching and be ready! He is coming soon!

First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Cheers!

Enoch, I depend entirely upon the Lord to provide the inspiration through events that happen in my life. Three years ago I joined with seven other writers who are serious about learning to craft words. We meet once a week and must have five pages to be edited. That’s motivation. Plus I am working on the sequel to a novel and I post a blog once a week. All personal goals that keep me in front of the computer pounding the keys. But the best motivation would uniting with folks with like goals to hold you accountable.

Hey Diane, Sounds like we have a lot in common. We moved to Texas from Arkansas 30 years ago. My sons were 3 and 2 weeks old at the time. So we tease that Daniel (the 2 week old) really got here as fast as he could! We joined First Baptist Dallas and were members there until 1995. Now we are members at Prestonwood. Our daughter, who is 10 and 7 years younger than her brothers is getting married this Sunday!
My book, self-published with Westbow Press, I Would Have Said Yes, is about our journey with autism and our son Daniel. I enjoy speaking to moms and especially moms of special needs kids. I write poetry and music as well. I would love to find out more about your writer’s group if you ever consider adding to it. Blessed to “meet” you.

Good morning, Lisa. And congratulations on your book. Is it a new release? Our adult group, Life Savers is an open group. We have about eight regular attendees and a good mix of genres. We meet at 9 a.m. the second Saturday of each month (except this month…September) and if you’re interested we’d love to have you with us in October. Please message me and I’ll give you details. 🙂

Hello!
I “stumbled” upon your blog quite by accident and am so glad I did! Oswald Chambers writes that “ The author that benefits you most is not one who tells you something you did not know before, but the one who Gives expression to the truth that has been dumbly struggling in you for utterance.” That is what your writing has done for me. You put into words and condense it to say succinctly what all my ramblings want to say 😊.
Blessings,
